WAV Wastewater Treatment Operator (Unlicensed)
The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the wastewater facility along with sampling, testing and performing corrective action on treated water. The Wastewater Technician operates waste water treatment facilities to control processing of waste water from production plant; diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective action during shift work; monitors gauges, meters, flow and control panels; maintains shift log (e.g. record meter and gauge readings); performs preventive and routine maintenance functions; manually operates valves as necessary; enters data in company database; and performs custodial duties as necessary.
Schedule:
- Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work days or nights.
Pay Rate:
- $29.07 per hour
- $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 6:00pm-6:00am
- $1.00 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday
Responsibilities:
- Perform operations and mechanical duties of wastewater equipment such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, etc.
- Complete preventative Maintenance Work Orders
- Operate and trouble shoot DAF performance through both laboratory testing and DAF operation parameters.
- Operate and troubleshoot belt press operation, adjust feed rate, chemical application, calculate pump down rate.
- Calibrate all plant instrumentation in a wide variety of makes and types specifications (i.e. pH, DO, lab scale).
- Perform cleaning duties as required.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors and managers.
- Practice and ensure strict adherence to plant safety procedures and departmental guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Moderate computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity or ability to learn SAP and Maximo, or similar integrated manufacturing systems
- Action-oriented with assertive follow up abilities
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and/or troubleshooting capability
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders
- Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions.
- Able to perform laboratory testing – including chemical and biological analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar WWTP operator role, laboratory technician or maintenance experience
- Ability to understand HMI controls and interlocks, and NPDES/SPDEs stormwater permitting.
Physical Demands & Environment:
- The Wastewater Treatment Operator position is physically demanding and requires being on the feet the entire shift, standing and walking, kneeling for extended periods of time, working in wet/dry/cold/hot environments, working in tight spaces, climbing steps and ladders, working at extreme heights, making pipe connections, using hand tools, physically transporting parts and tools, and lifting equipment parts which can weigh up to 70 Lbs.
- The Wastewater Treatment Operator must be able to work overtime and holidays when required
