Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk’s purpose is to coordinate and direct daily activities in the warehouse Department following all Company established policies. During this process, the Clerk must also adhere to all GMP’s, SOP’s, and Critical Control Points pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations and safety rules.

Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $16.83 and $21.04.

We Ask of You:

 

  • Allocate loads. Take paperwork for loads and generate the BOL. Make sure weights are correct, and good product is being shipped to the customer.
  • Fill out all paperwork. Take product manifests and order notifications. Complete paperwork and file away for future reference. Organize by day for each day of the month.
  • Schedule appointments. Take phone calls for loads and schedule loads. Utilize excel, word and other programs to schedule, work on pick up forms, and various other reports.
  • Commit orders. Take active in-specification product and commit in system to orders.
  • Receive in Paperwork. Receive in all raw materials in to the plant.  Use forklift to load and unload and rotate product in the rack.
  • Product needs. Verify what products are needed for the following day.
  • Operate Forklift. Load trucks when needed.
  • Monitor shipping phones as needed. Answer phones, talk to carriers and customer service.
  • This position is responsible for food safety and food quality.
  • The Clerk must be able to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • The incumbent must be able to read and comprehend procedures, which direct the position’s assignments.
  • The Clerk is able to communicate well between all departments and Management. The incumbent communicates with Employees, Supervisors, Vendors, Customer service, Sales team, and other Leprino Foods plants.
  • This individual is familiar with computer programs such as SAP, Excel, Word, Hummingbird, Leprino Net, and GroupWise.
  • This person is certified by Leprino Foods to operate and conduct daily inspections to ensure a safe operation of the forklift.
  • This person is responsible for training new and existing employees on department processes and procedures.
  • The Clerk is responsible for maintaining and generating the following reports; bulk ribbon material.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Prefer previous manufacturing experience in the food industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend procedures which direct the position’s assignments.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation by being available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all food safety, USDA, PPE, SOP, GMP, FSMA regulations and requirements.
  • A strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely.

 

Language and Technical Skills

  • Good communication skills
  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Able to read, write, and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records 

Reasoning Ability

  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This individual is required to stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, and lift 50-75 pounds on a regular basis. This person is able to work in cold and hot work environments on a temperature ranging from 34 degrees to as cold as –10 degrees and may include  a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature.
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
  • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
  • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
