Roswell, NM - Quality Processing Lab Tech (Night Shift/$20.32)
Leprino, is a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, and is seeking a Quality Processing Lab Tech to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. The Processing Lab Technician must be able to perform mathematical functions and be skilled at different computer programs such as Cyberdocs, SAP, Flex QM; Flex Quality Alerts; MES; Excel and Word, etc. The incumbent must be able to read, write, and comprehend procedures, which direct the position’s assignments. Quality Laboratory Technician must be able to communicate well between all production departments such as Warehouse, Processing, Cheese, Whey, etc. The incumbent must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines.
The Quality Laboratory Technician must have good communication, analytical, ethical and decision-making skills. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for maintaining all production files and generating all reports used to perform his/her daily job duties. This position is expected to maintain a clean environment, adhere to all the Good Manufacturing Practices, wear Proper Protective Equipment, Understand Standard Operating Procedures and know Critical Control Points pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations.

At Leprino, starting compensation for this role is $20.32 with step increase at 6 months. In addition, a night shift premium of $1.25 per hour is added for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM.

We Ask of You To:
- Maintain instrumentation, cross-checks, and sample programs to assure test integrity and consistency in all test aspects.
- Perform routine testing and control programs to monitor equipment and procedures to verify function/accuracy and alert appropriate personnel to discrepancies.
- Obtain various in-process samples of finished cheese, processed cheese, ingredients, milk and cheese for chemical analysis. Be able to prepare samples for shipping and/or test as required.
- Perform necessary quality checks during processing to include evaluation of input quality, output quality, magnets, metal detectors, liquid app checks, packaging integrity, weights, dimension checks, cheese melt tests, compaction tests, fines/oversize tests, etc.
- Understand the process of and perform cheese grading of bulk cheese.
- Understand the process of and be able to sample for bacti testing.
- Interact/communication with production and warehouse personnel for samples or results.
- Generate and enter into Real Time all input set information, monitor all input products, and correctly account for all production usage.
- Perform other duties as assigned by working foreperson or supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely..
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
- Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical problems.
- Ability to interface with equipment and computers.
- Must be able to read and comprehend procedures which direct the position’s assignments.
- Prefer previous manufacturing experience in the food industry.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all food safety, USDA, PPE, SOP, GMP, FSMA regulations and requirements.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position will be exposed inside ambient temperatures and may include a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature
- Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds
- Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
- Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
