LEW Lactose Packaging Group Leader 12hr PM
At Leprino, starting compensation for this role is Group Leader Rate ($34.20).
Summary Description: The Lactose Packaging Group Leader is responsible for the Lactose powder bagging process for the Whey Department. This is a working Group Lead position that will perform packaging operator duties in addition to the Group Lead responsibilities.
Job Description
- Manage break schedule for packaging operators.
- Ensure assignment & completion of daily tasks; Identify, delegate and manage priorities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedule, including but not limited to fillers, sealers and palletizer.
- Notify maintenance (submit work requests) as needed regarding mechanical issues. Follow through to completion with the mechanic or supervisor as needed.
- Handle daily department paperwork including but not limited to production logs, pallet tags, etc.
- Perform regular sampling.
- Maintain Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) for powder packaging area.
- Develop and manage a daily walk-through check list
- All packaging operator duties as required.
- Responsible for the safe and consistent operation of the powder bagging process in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Lead clean-up and housekeeping activities
- Adhere to all Company and regulatory GMPs; Ensure High Risk Hygiene Compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Powder Packaging Operators duties (Completed current JTPR on file required to be considered).
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
- Demonstrated leadership ability (lead by example) of multiple team members. Ability to conduct effective coaching sessions with team members.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks effectively; manage time; manage competing priorities (multi-task)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, GMP’s and Company Values.
- Physical requirements to perform job as defined in the essential job function.
- Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, self-starter & self-motivation skills.
- Computer literacy skills in SAP, MS Word, Excel, CIM.
- Must be able to lift 55lbs.

- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices.
- Ability to work any shift, weekends, holidays and possible overtime.

This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
