Description: 

For our Denver, CO corporate headquarters we are seeking two Scientists (Senior-level eligible for more experienced candidates) on our Nutrition, R&D team to move our organization to even larger level of dairy ingredient and nutrition growth! At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $77,000 and $123,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 5-10%.

 

  • Carries out project plans by identifying project scope, defining success criteria, and conducting risk analysis.
  • Conducts Feasibility Studies by researching market demands, researching if the process is well-defined/proven, and defining the project’s Return of Investment.
  • Assists with developing the product or process, testing, and validation.
  • Coordinates technical/ research projects and resources.
  • Coordinates project plans with manufacturing plants and third party labs by developing communication plans.
  • Completes Scale Up project implementation from R&D to production plants for commercialization.
  • Aids in the development of new testing protocol and methodology.
  • Performs project experiments including bench-top, pilot plant and production plant trials.
  • Runs Design of Experiment (DOE), using software if needed, and performs experiments based on conditions identified in DOE software.
  • Collects, processes, and analyzes data using software; then interprets and summarizes results.
  • Coordinates and carries out routine product performance (e.g. shred and melt), and analytical (e.g. RVA, Texture Analyzer, CE, HPAED, and HPLC) evaluations; and documents and presents results as agreed with manager.
  • Maintains exacting standards for quality, by identifying any issues which might adversely impact the quality of test results and/or employee safety, and immediately communicates concerns to senior staff and management as vital to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provides technical (scientific/analytical) expertise to internal/external departments and/or customers.
  • Crafts, changes (updates) and maintains SOP and Process Description.
  • Builds or changes (updates) manufacturing specifications.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Two (2) – eight (8) years of experience in food, biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in sophisticated lab or production equipment operations.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • A Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in food preparation and food safety.
  • Experience in food production environment and equipment operations.
  • SAP experience.
