Description: 

The Reliability Technician is responsible for performing preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance for the Allendale plant.  The Reliability Technician works closely with the maintenance manager, supervisors, technicians, and production teams to determine root cause of equipment downtime and to implement proactive and / or preventative solutions. 

 

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot equipment to discover root cause, implement solution, and validate corrective actions.  Use Maximo data to trend failures and remove failure modes. Include documenting, installing, disassembling, repairing equipment, documenting systems / equipment, and advanced troubleshooting of malfunctioning mechanical, electrical or instrumentation systems.
  • Continuous improvement projects including Preventative Maintenance Procedure Improvement, Predictive Maintenance Development / Implementation, Equipment Reliability Improvements.
  • Training and developing maintenance best practices and technical skills throughout the maintenance department.
  • Effective asset utilization through proper care, operation, maintenance, and new project delivery.
  • Follow company’s good manufacturing practices. Maintain housekeeping in area and maintain 5S standards.
  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct. This position is a member of the hazmat response team.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be able to effectively communicate
  • Must be able to support off shifts when needed
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and troubleshoot through tasks, operations and equipment
  • Able to read, write and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication technology
  • Prior experience in demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, electrical controls, and schematic reading; computer proficiency in email, internet, and basic Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior food manufacturing experience
  • Associates degree in relatable field
  • Training and certification in vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication technology
