Description: 

Short & Sweet: This position requires responsibility for the proper brine flow through the system by maintaining and cleaning brine filters and monitoring the brine conveyor, Cooper cutters and take-out conveyors. Will need to be able to float between 1st and 2nd shift.

 

Schedule:

Day Shift, 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM

12 Hour Shift Rotation, (223) 2 on, 2 off, 3 on etc.

*Weekends & Holiday's Included

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Check filter pressure using HMI touch screens
  • Change and clean brine filters and socks when filter pressure indicates necessary
  • Monitor temperature, belt speed, flow rate, and brine salinity
  • Enter information on scrap/butterfat log
  • Maintain brine filter sock washing station
  • Test salinity using the Brine Hydrometer
  • Obtain samples to test brine pH
  • Pull blocks of ribbon cheese and take center temperature in Processing Department
  • Visually check for leaks and place grey tubs in position to catch drips
  • Operate salt slurry system as needed
  • Install squeegees at endpoint of brine tank
  • Inspect red totes for trays and use blow torch to melt down
  • Position red barrels and tubs around equipment in preparation for shut down
  • Transport animal feed to warehouse
  • Monitor cleanliness of mixer and brine tank area
  • Hose down and spray foam on equipment and floor as needed
  • Assist with product code changeovers
  • Assist operators as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in writing and verbally
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work first and second shift
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs from floor to overhead lift (0" - 72")
  • Must be able to climb stairs, inclined ladders, and vertical ladders hourly
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to support 24/7/365 operation
