Description: 

Short & Sweet: The position will assist with maintenance and operation of all plant utilities including, but not limited to, refrigeration, boilers, air compressors, HVAC, water systems, chemical treatment systems, plumbing, electrical, and wastewater support.

 

Schedule: Must be flexible to train acorss all 3 shifts - once training is complete, a specific shift will be assigned to you. Must be able to work weekends & holiday's.

 

General Outline of Duties:

  • Be a member of the HAZMAT team
  • Take tests, samples, and readings from the waste treatment plant
  • Manage water treatment for boilers and all water systems
  • Monitor utilities throughout the day
  • Perform limited preventative maintenance under supervision
  • Complete work orders
  • Complete utility rounds and checks as assigned by the shift power maintenance tech or supervisor

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write and perform mathematical calculations
  • Good mechanical aptitude in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs. from floor to mid-chest (0” – 39”) monthly
  • Must be able to climb stairs, inclined ladders, and vertical ladders hourly
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Must be able to support 24/7/365 operation including weekends and holidays
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Two Year Degree or equivalent experience in an industrial, process, mechanical, HVAC or electrical related technical field with certification
  • Strong plant utilities (ammonia refrigeration and/or boilers, electrical, compressed air) knowledge
  • Prior food industry experience, preferably in dairy industry
  • Safety/OSHA knowledge
  • Familiarity with welding, general construction, electrical, and inventory control processes in Maintenance setting
  • Knowledge and ability to manage continuous improvement processes such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Prior experience with boilers and/or ammonia refrigeration is preferred
